He served a church mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in the North Central States and Canada. Green also served in the Airborne 19th Special Forces Group. He was instrumental in work with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during the construction of the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple.Mayor Green would run again for American Fork City Council in 2009 under the platform of reducing city indebtedness, reducing water rates, and repealing sewer tax increases. In the September 2009 he and three others advanced in the primary election, but he lost in the November General Election.Mayor Green married the former Sondra Read in 1971. They are the parents of six children and ten grandchildren. He is employed as an administrative aide at American Fork Junior High School, and is a rare book dealer in his spare time. At American Fork Junior High school, he is affectionately known as the Tic-Tac man. #TicTacTuesdaysHe is also known as the lunch room king at American Fork Junior High.
