The aircraft should be easy to assembleand dismantle for transportation by road or air. The acquisition process would be carried out under the provisions of DPP-2008. Other reported desired element included minimum speed of 90 kmph and capable of operating on paved, hard grassy surfaces, advanced Landing Grounds and from disused airfields. The deal was valued at Rs 105.5 crore. The contract also binds Pipistrel to deliver a further 100 aircraft after the third year, should the buyer want so.Pipistrel was selected as the winning bidder in the tendering competition among eleven international Original Equipment Manufacturers / Authorized Vendors".
