- Diana_Barham abstract "Diana Barham (1763 - 1823) was benefactress of the Evangelical movement. Her parents were Charles Middleton (Lord Barham), and his wife Margaret, of Barham Court, Kent. In 1780 she married Sir Gerard Noel. After moving to the Gower area of Wales in 1813 she (of an evangelical disposition) with the help of the Methodist and Independant churches began establishing evangelical congregations in the English-speaking districts of the area, and building chapels for them. Following her death in 1823 at Fairy Hill, Gower, Lord Barham (afterwards Lord Gainsborough) transferred the chapels to trustees. Of the six chapels built by her, two still belong to the Calvinistic Methodists and four to the Independents.".
