- Bring_Chrome_Home abstract "Founded in 2015, the fan group Bring Chrome Home is a group of fans, \"Chromies,\" advocating that the 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner California Chrome be returned to the United States after being sent overseas to Dubai, United Arab Emirates in the Dubai World Cup with plans of running in the Royal Ascot meet in England. The Chromies are made up mostly of fans who are looking out for the welfare of the horse. They demand that California Chrome get the best treatment and facilities possible, and even track his flights to make sure all his travel goes smoothly. When photos emerged from England when he was under the care of British trainer Rae Guest, they claimed the horse looked unfit, under weight, as well as depressed and made their loudest call to bring the colt back to the states. After getting an abscess put him out of commission for Ascot, he was sent back to the states with the intention of running in the Arlington Million, the group was up in arms as Chrome appeared to come back in poor condition. Eventually the plans for the Arlington Million were scrapped and the horse was given the rest of 2015 off.The group has been very vocal about their support of previous partner Steve Coburn over his love and admiration of the horse, whereas they do not agree with the motives or decision making of majority owner Perry Martin. In July 2015 Taylor Made Farm bought out Steve Coburn and took over minority interest in the colt. After Taylor Made purchased the horse, the Chromies were vehemently against the decision to keep the horse running in 2016 as well as the decision to once again try for the Dubai World Cup. They claim that greed is Perry Martin and Taylor Made's biggest motive and that they are not looking out for the horse's best interest, and continuing to run at five-years-old is not what the horse should be doing.".
