In 2004, PBS filmed a History Detectives documentary with the Abbot homestead as the subject. Dendrochronologists were consulted, and it was determined that the earliest portion of the house, the eastern (right hand) portion, was built in 1711, The western portion, to the left of the entryway, was built in 1713.".
