But eventually he got free after efforts his relatives of his Afsharian wife. He formed a Kurdish cavalry against Russian troops when they invade Rawanduz, Iraqi Kurdistan in 1916. He witnessed the unrest of Urmiah between Kurds and Assyrians when Mar Shimun XXI Benyamin Catholic Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East had been assassinated by Simko Shikak, the Kurdish tribe leader, in March 1918. Abdullah Beg died in 1939 in Sidakan town, in the Bradost area, north of Rawanduz.".
