Donald's brother Allan was a lieutenant in the British service, and was in the Spanish war betwixt Philip of Spain and the emperor. He died at Stirling in 1722. Donald died in the year 1725, and was succeeded by his son Allan, who became the Fourth Laird of MacLean, and on the death of his third cousin, Sir Hector MacLean, as already mentioned, Allan became ...".
