It is separated by only a few fields (the Hilperton Gap) from the northeastern edge of the town of Trowbridge and is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Trowbridge town centre.There are three main parts of the village: The old quarter, including the church, Hill Street, and the pub. To the south, large areas of housing constructed from 1997, including Paxcroft Mead, Castle Mead and Lacock Gardens; these districts are sometimes mistaken as suburbs of Trowbridge. To the east are Devizes Road, Stourton Park and Paxcroft (a small industrial hamlet).
