In 2010, after a powerful earthquake struck Haiti, Vanderpool traveled to the devastated regions in Haiti to use his skills as a trauma surgeon to provide immediate care to those in need and officially changed the name of his non-profit organization to Live Beyond. In 2013, Vanderpool sold his Lave MD private practice in Brentwood, TN and permanently moved to Thomazeau, Haiti where Live Beyond is currently based."@en }
