- List_of_RWBY_episodes shortsummary "At the dance Jaune goes over to Ruby to chat with her about both of them being there by themselves. He remarks about Weiss going with Neptune, only for Ruby to inform him that Weiss came alone. Jaune is upset and goes over to confront him, when he notices Pyrrha walking out to the balcony alone so he heads out and talks to her. When he asks about her date she tells Jaune no one asked her out because her reputation causes people to view her as unattainable. She then notes that is why she likes Jaune, since he did not know her reputation and treated her like he would anyone else. He reassures her and before he goes back in Neptune walks up to the balcony. Jaune criticizes Neptune for turning down Weiss and asks if he cares about the feelings of the girls he is hitting on, prompting Neptune to admit that he rejected Weiss because he does not know how to dance. Feeling better, Jaune encourages Neptune to go talk to Weiss and be himself and the two part amicably. Returning to the dance floor Jaune honors his promise to "go in a dress" if Pyrrha went alone, prompting laughter from the other students and cheering up Pyrrha. He and the rest of Team JNPR then dance, with Jaune's ability impressing Pyrrha. Meanwhile, Neptune approaches Weiss and when she asks why, he points out Jaune. Watching the dance from a floor above Mercury and Emerald communicate to Cinder, telling her everyone seems to busy at the dance and that she is clear to move on with their plan. Bored of the dance, Ruby heads out and notices a masked Cinder from afar jumping across roof-tops outside. Cinder makes her way to the communications tower at Beacon, knocks out the guard outside, and enters the tower going through several more guards until reaching the elevator. Ruby arrives outside the tower and notices the unconscious guard and calls her rocket locker to the area with Crescent Rose inside. Inside Cinder is on the communications room floor and moves over to one of the terminals. Emerald and Mercury tell her that Ironwood is leaving the ballroom. After finishing at her terminal, Cinder is set to leave when Ruby appears on the floor with Crescent Rose in hand. Cinder and Ruby fight, but Ironwood shows up distracting Ruby long enough for Cinder to vanish. Making her way into the ballroom, Cinder removes her disguise and loses the guards giving chase. She goes up to Emerald and Mercury, tells them things went well and says they should just enjoy the party.".

Elsewhere, Ruby and Yang are looking urgently for Blake, though Weiss is more ambivalent. Penny appears, prompting Yang and Weiss to leave, with Ruby remaining to explain the situation to Penny and acquire her help. Blake and Sun discuss the robberies and decide to stake out a cargo shipment of Dust to see if the White Fang are really involved. That night they are watching the cargo when an airship descends. Members of the White Fang emerge from the airship along with Torchwick. Blake jumps down and threatens Torchwick, demanding an explanation for why the White Fang are working with him. A fight ensues, drawing Ruby's attention from several blocks away, and Blake and Sun fight Torchwick and the White Fang members as more airships arrive. Ruby shows up to help but is struck by a blast from Torchwick. Penny begins fighting them alone and takes down several airships, defeating most of the White Fang members as well, but Torchwick escapes in an airship. Later, the police are on the scene when Weiss and Yang arrive. Weiss walks up to Blake and as Blake tries to explain that she is no longer a member of the White Fang, Weiss cuts her off, insisting she does not care and instead reprimands Blake for not coming to her team. Back at Beacon, Ozpin is watching a live feed of Ruby on the scene, when he receives a message from Qrow. Following the credits, Torchwick is seen at a warehouse, where he complains to Cinder and two of her associates about having to work with the White Fang, though she rebuffs his complaints and says they have big plans for him.".

Inside the train, they fight off numerous armed robots. When Adam sets explosives to blow up the train car, Blake inquires about the crew, but Adam shows no concern. Adam and Blake are then faced with a large spider-like robot and fight it on an open-air train car. Blake holds the robot off so Adam can prepare an attack, which he uses to take it out. He then notices Blake on the car ahead just as she separates the cars, leaving him behind.".

A displeased Weiss is pacing, unclear of the forest temple's location, and the two argue again. Elsewhere, Yang and Blake manage to locate the temple and find several chess pieces, which appear to be the relics. Jaune then receives a message from Cardin asking him to collect some wasps. The next day, the students are with Glynda Goodwitch on a class field trip to the Forever Fall forest to collect jars of sap from the trees. - List_of_RWBY_episodes shortsummary "Ironwood is watching over a lake when Glynda walks up beside him. The two discuss Ozpin as Ironwood is concerned that he is keeping something from them, but Glynda reminds him that Ozpin has much more experience than them so they should trust Ozpin. On Mountain Glenn Ruby keeps watch, as the other team members discuss their reasons for becoming huntresses in more detail. Weiss talks about how she was upset with the immoral path her father had taken the Schnee Dust Company, Blake described how she was interested in redeeming herself for serving so long in the White Fang as they turned violent. Yang attempts to reassure Blake, but Blake states that she was just running away and has no idea what she intends to do after leaving the academy. Yang responds by reluctantly admitting that she was really just interested in adventure unlike Ruby who simply always wanted to help people. Weiss contends that Ruby is still a kid, but Blake notes that is true of all of them. Yang notes they are not really kids anymore given where they are and Weiss concludes their discussion by noting whatever they want comes second to being a huntress. Later, Ruby is resting as Yang keeps watch when Zwei runs off. Ruby finds him peeing outside and is about to take him back into the building when she hears two White Fang members talking. She pursues them to the entrance of their base and begins heading back to inform the others when the street under her crumbles and she falls into a cavern. Inside the cavern Ruby is approached by several White Fang members and reaches for Crescent Rose, only to realize it did not fall with her. She is quickly subdued and taken away. Back at their camp, Yang notices that Ruby is missing and after Zwei returns to the camp Professor Oobleck says they need to search for Ruby. Ruby comes to as she is being dragged through the White Fang base when some of the White Fang members call out to Torchwick, who expressed annoyance at her arrival. Zwei has lead them to the hole, where they notice Crescent Rose lying beside it. At this point Professor Oobleck realizes the White Fang base is actually underground, explaining that Mountain Glenn had once housed a subway system to allow transit to the kingdom that was then used as a shelter when the Grimm overran the settlement. Oobleck then pulls out his weapon and announces that they will go rescue Ruby.".

Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald, also arrive to join the battle. Team CFVY fly in on an airship and help wipe out several groups of Grimm. Oobleck and Port also appear to take part in the battle when Glynda appears to close up the hole from which the Grimm are emerging. The battle having been won, Roman is being arrested but is nonchalant as he is handed over by Mercury and Emerald. Back at Beacon campus, RWBY stare at the cityscape and talk about it being over, though noting they still do not know Roman and the White Fang's motives, or all the people involved. At Ozpin's office, the council is talking about the Vytal Festival in a video call and insist on having Ironwood in charge of security due to the Grimm attack. Ironwood encourages Ozpin to trust him, then ends the video call. After ending the conversation, Ironwood, in the facility where Roman is being held, opens his cell and asks for Roman for information about who is really in charge of his operation. Roman blows him off and after Ironwood walks away, Roman laughs confidently. Meanwhile, Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury meet on a rooftop in Vale, with Cinder saying how the day was a "success". Mercury notes that with some Faunus still trapped in the train tunnels, he expresses doubt that the White Fang will continue listening to them. However, Adam Taurus appears, reassuring the group that they'll listen to him. In the meantime, Weiss is nearby, having a similar discussion with Pyrrha, when Jaune shows up to flirt with both of them and asks about having them on his team. After they both rebuff him, the students are ordered to head out for their initiation. At the top of a cliff, Glynda and Ozpin confirm the rumors about teams. The soldiers chasing them arrive and Penny hides Ruby to keep her from getting in trouble then goes with the soldier. Yang and Neptune arrive at their destination, Junior's club, and the men inside the club panic when they notice Yang coming. Junior asks what she is doing there and Yang says he owes her a drink. Blake and Sun sneak into the White Fang meeting posing as new recruits. On a stage a White Fang member introduces Roman, prompting outcry from some of the other members about the presence of a human. Roman gives a speech about how the leaders of the kingdoms are their common enemy, earning their support, and reveals one of the new battlesuits from Atlas that he has managed to obtain. After introducing the weapon the new recruits are called to the front of the stage, causing Sun and Blake concern. In the club Yang is interrogating Junior about his henchmen working for Roman and he simply explains that Roman hired them and the men never came back. Back at the White Fang meeting, Sun is asking what they are supposed to do when Roman notices them. Blake quickly shoots out the power and jumps out a window as Roman gives chase in the battlesuit. They call up the others who arrive to help fight off Roman as they get onto a major freeway overpass. Neptune and Sun are knocked off the overpass as RWBY continues fighting until they are able to knock the battlesuit off the highway and confront it on the ground below. Using various combination attacks the team is able to destroy the battlesuit with Roman now standing unprotected. Cardin is asked the same question and gives a mildly offensive answer. In response, Pyrrha gives the proper answer. After class, Oobleck assigns Jaune and Cardin extra work to address their poor grades. Pyrrha talks to Jaune on the roof about his struggles and wants to help him. He responds that he does not deserve to be there, confessing that he used fake transcripts to get into Beacon. Pyrrha leaves at Jaune's request, but Cardin shows up and says he heard the confession. - List_of_RWBY_episodes shortsummary "Professor Oobleck, informs RWBY about their mission and urges them to hurry as they are already behind schedule. After Oobleck heads to the airship, RWBY discusses their intentions for going on the mission when JNPR overhears. Nora complains about them going to "save the world" without them and talk about their mission that is happening the next day. Sun and Neptune arrive to talk about their mission in the city. Oobleck calls out to RWBY so they say goodbye to their friends and proceed to the airship. As they head towards their destination, an abandoned urban settlement on the outskirts of Vale overrun by Grimm, the girls question Oobleck about his qualifications for the assignment, but he notes he has had experience in battle and the importance of history to the area they will be visiting. Upon arrival, Oobleck complains that Ruby brought her backpack despite him instructing them to leave them behind. Before she can say anything, Zwei pops out of the bag and to the girls' surprise Oobleck applauds her for being a dog along as they can be useful in tracking. They stop talking when Oobleck notices a lone Beowolf moving through the street. He initially suggests that they not attack and wait for it to meet up with its pack, but the pack appears and the girls wipe them out. As they begin investigating the ruins of the settlement, Oobleck questions Yang, Weiss, and Blake about their reasons for becoming huntresses. Yang states she does it for the thrill with the added bonus of helping others, Weiss states that as a Schnee it is about honor and duty, and Blake states she wanted to do something about the injustice she sees in the world. Oobleck then announces that it is time for them to make camp and has Yang, Weiss, and Blake set up as he talks to Ruby. The two of them approach a ledge and look out over a forest on the edge of the Kingdom. In the distance a pack of Goliath Grimm are moving through the forest. Oobleck tells Ruby about how such Grimm have lived for centuries to where they have learned not to attack the borders at risk of being killed by humans. When Ruby asks why stay so close to the border, he pronounces that they are waiting. Walking back Ruby asks Professor Oobleck why he decided to become a huntsman and he points out the ruins, noting that these remind him of the lives lost to the Grimm. He notes that by providing future huntsmen and huntresses with knowledge of such tragedies he can help prevent them in the future. Back at camp, Yang, Weiss, and Blake, discuss Oobleck's questions and note they do know the whole reason why they choose to be huntresses. The three lay down to rest when Ruby and Oobleck arrive and Ruby goes outside to keep first watch.".
- List_of_RWBY_episodes shortsummary "Pyrrha is seen walking into a dark arena and apparently fighting against the members of Team CRDL. She is able to defeat all of them even as they gang up against her. After defeating Cardin the area lights up and Glynda declares the match over, apparently having been only a one-on-one duel with Cardin. Glynda asks about the next match and suggests Blake volunteer, but then Mercury raises his hand. Before she can determine his opponent for him, Mercury declares that he wants to fight Pyrrha. During the match Mercury appears to be doing well against Pyrrha, but then forfeits and declares that she is far too capable. Class ends with Glynda remind the students of a dance coming up on Sunday. Following class, Blake is approached by Sun, who invites her to the dance. She rejects him, insisting she does not have time and storms off. At RWBY's dorm, the other team members are talking to Blake about her recent behavior. They note that she is too consumed with their investigation, which is causing her to fall behind on sleep and in class, then encourage her to go to the dance. Despite their efforts she rejects their offers and heads to the library. Following a knock on the door, Weiss opens it and sees Jaune with a guitar. He serenades her in an effort to get her to go to the dance with him, but she turns him down coldly. On the roof, Jaune and Pyrrha are sparring and after they finish Pyrrha notes Jaune's progress. She notices his mood and he mentions Weiss. Pyrrha tries to reassure him, but he complains that she probably has lots of guys asking her and would not understand. In Cinder's dorm, Mercury is discussing Pyrrha's ability from his observations during their match and assures Cinder that she could take her down without trouble. Cinder then says it not about "overpowering" them but "taking their power" in time. Mercury bemoans having to wait, but Cinder reminds them of the "fun" they will be having on the weekend.".
- List_of_RWBY_episodes shortsummary "Ruby arrives with Jaune at the opening assembly and meets up with Yang. As Ruby rants about Weiss, Weiss sees her and begins scolding Ruby again. Professor Ozpin gives a brief speech at the assembly, and Glynda announces their initiation will be tomorrow. That night, the new students gather together in the ballroom with their sleeping bags. Ruby is writing a letter to her friends at Signal and laments to Yang about her trouble making new friends at Beacon. Yang encourages Ruby to become friends with Blake. Yang reassures her that Blake will come to the dance as well. In the library Blake is on a computer when the red dot of a laser pointer appears on her screen. After several appearance she becomes aggravated and follows the dot to Yang who quickly pulls her away to talk. Elsewhere, Jaune asks Ren for his advice on approaching Weiss, describing all the reasons he likes her. Pyrrha arrives and suggests he should just tell her what he told Ren. After he leaves, Pyrrha walks to her desk listlessly and Nora remarks to herself that Pyrrha should take her own advice. In one of the classrooms Yang is trying to get Blake to go slow with the investigation. Yang relates a story to Blake about her family and how, after Ruby's mother failed to come back from a mission when Ruby was very young, Yang learned her own mother simply left her with their dad after she was born. Yang tells Blake of how her determination to find her mother almost got her and Ruby killed. Blake insists the situation is not the same and that she will keep investigating. Yang responds that she still searches for her mother and that she is only suggesting Blake take to spend with the people she cares about. Outside on campus, Jaune is heading to see Weiss when he hears her asking out Neptune and runs off. The night of the dance Blake meets up with Sun and the two go together. At the dance Ruby, expressing discomfort with the idea of the dance, is told by Ozpin that they should enjoy such times as way to strength their bonds. At the entrance to the ballroom, Yang greets Mercury and Emerald as they arrive at the dance.".
- List_of_RWBY_episodes shortsummary "Team RWBY walks around the city of Vale during preparations for the Vytal Festival. Weiss leads them to the port, where a ship from one of the other kingdoms had just arrived. When they arrive, they notice the scene of a dust store robbery. The officers speculate the White Fang are responsible for the crime, though Ruby suspects Torchwick. At the mention of the White Fang, Weiss becomes incensed and gets into an argument with Blake about the group and the Faunus. In the meantime, Sun Wukong, a monkey Faunus stowaway from the incoming ship, creates a scene and runs past them while being chased by the police officers and the team follows suit, but Weiss collides into a girl named Penny. She introduces herself and says she is planning to participate in the combat tournament. Her odd behavior puts off the girls, and Weiss questions her ability. Afterwards, Weiss remains motivated to find the "filthy Faunus rapscallion", but her attitude offends Blake. Their argument resumes and continues into the evening, even after they get back to their dorm room. Weiss then explains that the violence against her family's company is the source of her distrust and hostility. In the heat of their arguing, Blake accidentally lets slip her association with the White Fang. Fearful, she quickly dashes out of the room and goes to Beacon's courtyard.
