- Václav_Hudeček abstract "Václav Hudeček (born June 7, 1952 in Rožmitál pod Třemšínem) is a Czech violinist. He studied at the Prague Conservatory. While he was still only fifteen, he performed in concert on 11 November 1967 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. One day later he was heard by the legendary David Oistrach. Hudeček was the pupil of this great master from 1970 to Oistrach's death in 1974. His wife is actress Eva Hudečková.Václav Hudeček has started his exemplarily steep journey to the Czech and international interpretative elite in the sixties. Being already fifteen, he appeared at a concert in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on 11 November 1967. One day later, the legendary David Oistrach heard him and foretold him a great future and offered him his pedagogical help. Since 1970 until Oistrach's death in 1974, he was a pupil of this great Master.Since his London debut he has appeared all over the world on the most prestigious stages (Carnegie Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Suntory Hall, Osaka Festival Hall) with the best world's orchestras (Berliner Philharmoniker, Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, NHK Philharmonic Orchestra) as well as on the world festivals (Osaka, Salzburg, Istanbul, Perth, Helsinki). He keeps acknowledging the legacy of David Oistrach and other giants of Russian violin school. And so even today he purposefully cooperates with the holders of Oistrach's, Kogan's and Sitkovetsky's traditions as can be proved by his records in Supraphon company.Hudeček's pleasant performance and namely his style combining a technical mastership with an emotionally rich tone connected with a verve and lust which he can pass to an audience in an unchangeable way enchant audiences of all ages. His recording of Vivaldi's Le Quatro Stagioni with the conductor Pavel Kogan dated 1992 has still been the most successful performance in the Czech Republic and the violinist received a golden and in 1997 a platinum record for it. He also received golden records for his other recordings.Václav Hudeček does not devote himself only to old masters' compositions but widens his repertoire range by the 20th century's works (Janáček, Prokofiev) and compositions of contemporary Czech authors (Kymlička, Fišer, Mácha). As an educator, he has been working in courses in Canada, Japan, Germany. Recently, he has been systematically helping the incoming Czech generation both on the annually held summer violin concerts in Luhačovice and by presenting the best ones as guests on his concerts as well as on his traditional Christmas concert tours or on Music Festivities organized by him in Prague. In 2007, he was recognized by the President of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus through the “National Award for Achievement in the Area of Culture and the Arts”".
