- Tom_Huff_(politician) abstract "Tom G. Huff (1933 – April 14, 2013) was an American businessman and politician.Born in Mandan, North Dakota and graduated from Sumner High School and went to the University of Puget Sound and Knapp College. Before his political career Huff was an executive for retailer Sears. He served in the Washington House of Representatives from 1995 to 2000 as a Republican from Gig Harbor, Washington. In June 1980 Mr. Huff Gathered all the employees of the Sears Automotive shop together in a meeting in the parking lot to say "They were proud to have received a few letters from satisfied customers praising the Drive-ability man we have had here almost 4 years, Jeff Evenson, as they had taken their cars to numerous places but only got them running correctly at Sears. And further, that the Head office is so pleased they are thinking about making a commercial out of it." That was a Friday afternoon and at 5 pm when management had left, a service writer, Teresa Rowan, came up to Jeff and said," Jeff, the Boss, Tony Koenig, says he's late getting in all the yearly contracts and asked if I (Teresa Rowan) knew how to sign a couple of the guys signatures, as they are gone for the week?" Jeff said, "Teresa- I wouldn't do that, that's Forgery, where is the next Manager, Brian Dahl?" "He's gone also." she said. Jeff said, "I would set it aside and not worry about it." So, Jeff called Personnel and left a message saying, "I'm leaving an anonymous notice that the service writer is being asked by the manager to sign others signatures on their contract, and I hope someone speaks to him about it. Well, naturally Jeff's family was proud of his work also- Until he showed up for work Monday morning and after a couple hours was asked to go into the main store Managers, Tom Huff. When he went into the office he was simply told, "Jeff, we don't need you now." Jeff said," OK, then I got to get back to work, cars are waiting." No Jeff, you don't understand, we don't want you anymore. The Manager, Tony Koenig has been given a month off with no pay. But Jeff had been fired. If Jeff had known at that time, in 1980, that this was a Felonious Criminal violation on the anti RICO and Whistle blowers retaliation act, not only would Tom Huff have been Fired, instead of Jeff Evenson, he could have received up to 10 years in the Federal Prison System. So much for the integrity of Rep. Tom Huff.".
