He has contributed to the documentaries produced by The History Channel about the Roman history, especially to the series "Rome: Rise and Fall of an Empire."Professor Martin earned his B.A. (1970) in Classics summa cum laude from Princeton University and his M.A. (1972) and Ph.D. (1978) in Classical Philology from Harvard University, with graduate work at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens (1973–75).".
