- Louis_Wescott_Myers abstract "Louis Wescott Myers (September 6, 1872 – February 15, 1960) was the 20th Chief Justice of California.Born in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, Myers earned a bachelor's and a law degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He practiced law for several years in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles. From 1913-23 he was a Superior Court judge in Los Angeles. In 1923 he was appointed to the Supreme Court of California to fill a vacancy; the next year he was appointed Chief Justice and served as such until leaving the court in January 1926.Following his tenure as Chief Justice, Myers joined a Los Angeles law firm run by Henry W. O'Melveny. Myers' name was added to the firm, which eventually became known as O’Melveny & Myers.He married Blanche Brown of Michigan; they had at least two children, Elizabeth Myers and test pilot John Wescott Myers.".
