- Itzam_Cano abstract "Itzam Cano (born in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican jazz bassist. He carried out studies of ethnomusicology at the Escuela Nacional de Música from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).He studied electric bass and contrabass and development in musical aspects such as improvisation, jazz theory and harmony has been consolidated in workshops regular and master class given by many different masters.In late 2005, he joined free jazz ensemble Zero Point. In September 2006, Zero Point participated in the Japanese New Music Festival (Tatsuya Yoshida, Makoto Kawabata y Atsushi Tsuyama), carried out at Multiforo Alicia in Mexico City. By 2007, Zero Point edits its first digital album (DL-CD Download Only Release) at Ayler Records, Swedish company specialized in production and spread of historical and contemporary free jazz. Recent work includes performances with:Elliot Levin, Marco Eneidi, Dennis, Stefan y Aarón Gonzales (Yells at Eels), Dave Dove, Shelley Hirsch, Scott Forrey (vector Trío), Milo Tamez, Tom Corona, Lawrence Williams, Generación Espontánea, etc.Since 2004 has opened up with concerts at many of the festivals, concert halls, clubs and art galleries; including: Ollin Jazz Tlalpan Internacional, Festival de Improvisación Libre, Free Jazz y Noise "Cha'ak'ab Paaxil" (with sede in Mérida, Yucatán), Festival Internacional de las Americas in La Habana, Cúba and in many artistic festivals in cities like Puebla, Guadalajara, Zacatecas, for example jornadas Alarconianas in Guerrero.Currently he is part of Antimateria, Zero Point, Claude Lawrence trío and has been part of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Puebla and the Orquesta de Percutoris from the Escuela Nacional de Música at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (ENM-UNAM)."but when Itzam Cano’s bass resonates, it underscores Peacock’s remarkably influential technique" - Jeff Stockton, All About Jazz"Itzam Cano, a young Mexican bassist who demonstrates a pension for furious, pulsating improvisation." - Mike Szajewski, WNUR, Chicago".
