- Che_Pope abstract "Che Pope, also known by Che Vicious and Che Guevara, is a Grammy award-winning American hip-hop producer from Boston, MA. Pope is also the president of G.O.O.D. Music. He is perhaps best known for producing Grammy-nominated "Bound 2" by Kanye West, as well as executive producing the album Cruel Summer and co-executive producing Yeezus.Pope entered the music industry in 1994 signed to Teddy Riley, after the legendary producer heard his beats through a mutual friend. A year and a half later, he moved to New York where he began producing for Wyclef Jean and The Fugees, which included credits on Destiny Child’s “No, No, No Part 2”, “Ghetto Supastar”, “Gone Til November”, and more. While working with Jean, Pope connected with Lauryn Hill, who invited him to produce and write with her on several projects including Aretha Franklin's "A Rose Is Still A Rose", Carlos Santana's "Do You Like The Way", "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill", and more. Due to improper crediting and compensation, several lawsuits stemmed from "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill". Pope and Hill have since reconciled, and are looking to collaborate in the future. After his time with Hill, Pope moved on to produce projects in both domestic and foreign markets, and in 1999 he was hired as a VP of A&R at Warner Bros Records. He eventually moved to the west to explore film composing, and was hired by legendary composer Hans Zimmer as a staff producer, having the opportunity to contribute production to over 150 films, television shows, and commercials. Two years later, he connected with Dr. Dre and was offered a position in his immediate production team, working on Aftermath projects including everyone from Eminem to 50 Cent and more.In 2012, Pope joined GOOD Music as a partner, as well as head of A&R and has left his mark on every project released by the label since then. Two years later, he was named president of the label. As of recently, he produced "Jukebox Joints" on ASAP Rocky's album "At. Long. Last. ASAP" and produced "Tell Your Friends" on The Weeknd's 2015 release "Beauty Behind the Madness" alongside with Kanye West, Illangelo and Mike Dean.".
