These youngsters are going to be a part of the supply chain for the higher grade teams of the State, and are the Assets of MPCA in a real sense.Our prime objective is to upgrade the skills of the potentially talented cricketers and extend regular mentoring facilities so that the players blossom at the right age. We believe in extending competitive exposure to the gifted youngsters to augment their development process.MPCA has a grand legacy of cricketers being groomed with the efforts of our Association. The first captain of the Indian Test side – Col. C K Nayudu was from our place. Capt. S Mushtaq Ali, the first Indian to score a Test century on a foreign soil represented MPCA throughout his cricketing days.In the recent past, MPCA has contributed in shaping up the careers of renowned Indian cricketers like Narendra Hirwani, Rajesh Chouhan, Amay Khurasiya, Naman Ozha etc.MPCA is a regular participant in all domestic tournaments conducted by the BCCI.MPCA is the only provincial unit in India that can boast of having two International venues under our control. Both the venues offer contemporary facilities for the International cricket events.Till date, MPCA has successfully hosted 22 One Day International games and 2 IPL matches. Till 2001, Nehru Stadium was the venue for hosting ODI at Indore (9 matches). The first ever Ranji Trophy Final (BCCI domestic tournament) under floodlights was played at Capt. Roop Singh Stadium in April 1997. The India versus West Indies ODI on 8 December 2011 saw Virender Sehwag shattering the opponents while he reached the majestic figure of 219 runs.MPCA also operates a residential academy which provides regular cricket coaching, systematic fitness management, specific nutrition, regular health check up and purposeful recreation along with the education to the potentially talented young cricketers.Mr. Amay Khurasiya, a Level C Coach, is the chief coach of our Academy.MPCA is goldenly associated with two of the milestones in the cricketing career of Sachin Tendulkar. He scored his ten thousandth run during the ODI played at Indore (against Australia on 31.3.2001) and became the first male cricketer to score a double century in ODI (against South Africa at Gwalior on 24.2.2010).
