McCall also openly advocated and lobbied in order to establish a Magistrate's office in Mooresville to better serve residents of the southern end of Iredell County. McCall is one of a few handful of other Registers of Deeds in North Carolina to openly criticize the state-wide North Carolina Register of Deeds Association and its practice of holding conferences that are largely underwritten by taxpayers and vendors seeking taxpayer business from officeholders.On November 2, 2014, McCall was re-elected for a second term as the Iredell Register of Deeds, winning 67% of the vote. McCall won 74% of the vote in preceding Primary Election of 2014. On March 21, 2015, McCall was elected Chairman of the Iredell County Republican Party. McCall assembled a slate of candidates who also won every seat up for election.On June 3, 2015, Governor Pat McCrory appointed Matt McCall as a member of the North Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board. McCall also serves on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee of Partners Behavioral Health Management, and is also a member of Ducks Unlimited, the National Rifle Association and the Troutman Rotary Club.On February 24, 2016, The Statesville Record & Landmark reported that Matt McCall is considering running for the newly created 13th US Congressional District."@en }
