Call letters were variously KWFR and KIXY. KWFR stood for \"Walton Foster Radio\".The FM antenna has always been colocated with 1260 near 27th and Volney. The original shorter tower hosted 94.7 at 39kilowatts at 140 feet above average terrain. In the early eighties, FM raised height to 400 feet and power to 100,000 watts. The taller tower raised the AM efficiency and AM power was reduced to 540 watts to maintain constant coverage.The station was always very promotionally oriented.
