Major Lazer frontman Diplo also stated that Gouw has produced all artwork ever used by Major Lazer, from album art to promotional images.Ferry Gouw grew up in Jakarta, then came to London as a young adult to study art at Central St Martins college. He became friends with Tom Vek, a contemporary at Central St Martins. After graduation he joined the band Balls, a precursor to Test Icicles, and became part of an English indie scene, for which he has made music videos and graphics for several bands, including Simian Mobile Disco and Bloc Party. He has also illustrated club flyers and made cover art for many artists, including Young Turks. The 2009 Spring/Summer edition of Plastique featured 3 alternative covers, each with an illustration by Ferry on the back.
