He was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 9th round (212th overall) of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.Cronan attended the Colgate University where he played four seasons (1992 – 1996) of NCAA hockey with the Colgate Raiders, scoring 52 goals and 61 assists for 113 points, whicle earning 300 penalty minutes, in 134 games played. He graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.Cronan made his professional debut in the American Hockey League (AHL), playing the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons with the Fredericton Canadiens. Following his stint in the AHL, Cronan played predominately in the ECHL, skating in 105 regular season games and 11 playoff games with the New Orleans Brass, Chesapeake Icebreakers, Pee Dee Pride, and finishing his career with the Dayton Bombers after being traded to the team on January 24, 2000 in exchange for Andy Powers."@en }
