It was discovered by German astronomer Karl Reinmuth at Heidelberg Observatory on 26 February 1941.The asteroid orbits the Sun at a distance of 2.3–3.0 AU once every 4 years and 4 months (1,580 days). Its orbit shows an eccentricity of 0.14 and is tilted by 6 degrees to the plane of the ecliptic. Light-curve observations measured a long rotation period of more than 56 hours. For a stony S-type asteroid, it has an exceptionally low geometric albedo of around 0.07, according to observations carried out by the WISE and NEOWISE missions.The minor planet was named in honor of German astronomer Siegfried Böhme (1909–1996), staff member at Astronomisches Rechen-Institut in Heidelberg since 1949. He improved upon the orbital elements of many asteroids, in particular upon 919 Ilsebill."@en }
