He was raised with 11 siblings. Stock's paternal Ashkenazi Jewish family originated from Frankfurt am Main, German Empire, while his maternal Sephardi Jewish family arrived in Split during Napoleonic era. His father moved to Split in 1844 from Trieste, Italy. Stock graduated from the university as a civil engineer. After graduation he built the cement factory near Solin and also the factory for the asbestos-cement products. At the begin of 1900's Stock became involved in the production of alcoholic beverages. In 1905 Stock merged with Vid Morpurgo, another Croatian Jewish industrialist, to found the alcoholic beverages company "Morpurgo, Stock e Comp." Stock 84 was being produced in the Split based old Morpurgo factory. New company got the franchise to build the new liquor factory near Split (today part of Split). Factory concession was then challenged by the municipal prefect Vicko Mihaljević due to environmental issues. Some attributed this problem to the political conflict between owners of the factory and municipal authorities. Due to the disappointment of failing to get the concession, Stock and Morpurgo built the factory in Rovinj, Croatia. Factory was prosperous so Stock and his partner decided to build the second factory in Trieste. There Stock's brother Lionel already owned the steam wine distillery "Distilleria a vapore Camis & Stock" (now Fernet Stock) which produced cognac "Medicinal". Stock died in Trieste in 1951."@en }
