For over the past 4 years Thumper has been training there pursuing his passion. He has decided that it’s now time to retire from competition.Thumper said, “I will always rollerblade. It’s my art, meditation, and passion. It’s just time to retire from contests. The demand on my body is too much and injuries build up. I went to Barcelona last November and came in 4th 2011. When I went there I decided that, that could be my last contest so I made sure to soak it all in. I went way beyond I would have ever thought when I go into rollerblading in 1994. I loved it and it was my whole life. It’s thought me so much beyond the sport. I’ve been disadavanged being from Hawaii with no other pros to skate with so I had to make up for it in everyway I could. From rollerblading I’ve learned about nutrition, weight training, sports psychology, chiropractic, physical therapy, and much about my self. My rollerblading goes far beyond the sport. it’s changed who I am and I am blessed I made it so far. I would like to thank everyone for all the support. Especially the Maui County for having a facility I could train on and my parents for everything! I look forward to being back in Hawaii skating for the love of it for myself.\"Thumper still inline skates regularly and manages his video production company, HI FOCUSED."@en }
