That incident is the central theme of his songs «Coraza Divina» (2007) and «6 De Enero» (2012).He played a very important part in reggaeton's international success through his single «Gasolina» and his album Barrio Fino, which was the first reggaeton album to achieve a standart platinum certification by the RIAA for 1,000,000 copies sold in the United States. Barrio Fino and Barrio Fino En Directo were part of the three best selling Latin albums in the US during the 2000s decade. He released 7 studio albums, a compilation album, 2 mixtapes, 2 live albums and a soundtrack as of 2013. Since 2007, he holds a reggaeton record for most copies sold in the US during the first week of its release with his album El Cartel: The Big Boss. His 2013 album King Daddy was the first only-digital Latin album to reach the top 10 in Billboard charts. He has sold over 18 million albums worldwide during his 25-year-long career. Currently he is working on his next studio album, titled King Daddy 2, scheduled to be released during 2016.He has also a small film career, leading the 2004's short film El Cangri, making a cameo appearance in Vampires (2005), and having a lead role in the 2007's docummentary film Straight Outta Puerto Rico and his own film Talento De Barrio (2008), which soundtrack achieved a double Latin platinum certification for 200,000 copies sold in the US. The movie earned more than 2 million dollars from the box office as of September 2008. Ayala also made other appearances in TV series, including 6 episodes as guest in the US 27 years-long soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful in 2010, and is also one of the three coaches in La Voz Kids during the show's third and upcoming fourth season.As to awards and nominations, Daddy Yankee is the reggaeton most awarded artist and also the most nominated. Between 2005 and 2015, he won 45 awards and lost 135 times. His first award was a 2005 Lo Nuestro Award for Urban Album of the Year, and his last one was a 2015 Latin American Music Award for Favourite Urban Song.
