Later he moved to Lahore where he started a Master's degree in English Literature at Forman Christian College. His education was interrupted when much of his family died during the Partition Riots of 1947. He resumed education at the University of the Punjab where he studied Social Works. In 1960 he graduated with honours and received a gold medal from Punjab University. He lived in Canada from 1962 to 1964, where he obtained a special degree in psychology. Upon his return to Pakistan he joined Punjab University as a faculty member, eventually rising to head of the department of sociology & psychology, a position he held for over twenty years.He wrote three books on palmistry, Hath ki Zuban and Esrar ay Dast Shanasee in Urdu and the English work New Horizons in Palmistry: 700 most revealing hand prints, published in 1999.
