He was born in Ghana but spent most of his childhood in the UK, where he discovered his love for football. He then moved back to Ghana during his years in secondary school. He began his youth career on a club team for Sheffield Wednesday in 1995 and moved up into his senior career in 1997. He played on fifteen different club teams between the years of 1997 and 2012, when he retired. He spent most of his career in England, as well as spells in the United States, Egypt, Cyprus and most recently Scotland. He is well known for playing for the Bristol Rovers (2003-2006), in which he made 140 appearances, before moving to Nottingham Forrest. Agogo played on a national team, Ghana, between the years 2006-2009 in which he received a third-place national honor for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2008. He also received three club honors throughout his career.
