He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Saurashtra State from 1948 to 1956. He later became a member of the Legislative Assembly of Bombay state in 1956. Unconfirmed report said that he was under house arrest for some time during emergency. He was elected from Gujrat to Rajya Sabha (janta party) from 10-04-1978 to 09-04-1984.Till his last days, he did his best for the betterment of the poor."@en }
