Later in his career, he went to Australia, as a player/coach with the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League.From 1990-1992 he was a minor league hitting coach for the San Diego Padres. 1992-1999 he became a Major League scout for the Milwaukee Brewers before being named a Special Assistant to the GM, Player Personnel for the Baltimore Orioles 1999-2003.
