He was born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, but went to school in England: he attended Malvern College, captaining the school side in his final year, then went to the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and was again cricket captain.Robson hit 5 and 46 on his debut against Hampshire, and was retained for the county's next game, against Glamorgan. The match was something of a disaster for Worcestershire, with the Welsh county — in their first season as a first-class county — recording a crushing win (one of only two they managed that season) by an innings and 53 runs. Robson scored 9 and 43, but then dropped out of the side.He was not to reappear in county cricket for another five years, but then played four times for Middlesex. In one of those games (against Essex) he did not get to bat, but even when he did his contributions were at best marginal. In six innings for his new county he scored only 33 runs with a highest score of only 12, and by August he was again dropped from the side, never again to return to the first-class game.Outside cricket, he was a fine rackets player.Robson died in Long Melford, Suffolk at the age of 87."@en }
