Its orbit shows an eccentricity of 0.20 and is tilted by 4 degrees to the plane of the ecliptic. It has a rotation period of 3.6 hours and an albedo of 0.06, assumed by the Collaborative Asteroid Lightcurve Link (CALL).The minor planet was named in honour of Russian historian Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Fursenko (1927–2008), member of the Russian academy of science and expert in the fields of U.S. history, international relations, and Russian foreign economic policy."@en }
