On 1 January 1966 the battalion was amalgamated with the 2nd Green Jackets, King's Royal Rifle Corps and the 3rd Green Jackets, Rifle Brigade (Prince Consort's Own) to become the 1st Battalion, Royal Green Jackets which, in February 2007, was amalgamated with the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment, the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment and The Light Infantry to form a new large infantry regment, to be known as The Rifles."@en }
