Poladi was born in Agil-i-Hussani, Alamdar Road, Quetta, a second Generation Hazara in Quetta. He grew up and got his early education from local schools and colleges, and did his BSc (Honors) from University of Sind. He later got admission to university of Philippines, Manila, and did his MA. After working for provencial govt of Balochistan, he moved to USA on research assistant fellowship. In 1975 he received his Masters Degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, New york. He was neutralized American Citizen, and lived with his family in Stockton, California. He had traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe and North America. In addition to his native Hazaragi, he was fluent in English, Urdu and Filipino. His life contribution to the Hazara nation is his book The Hazaras. It is one of the most authenticated book written on Hazaras so far. It has been translated in Persian and Urdu. In 2007, a container carrying consignment of the book in Persian language was stopped at Zareng, And the whole consignment was thrown into Helmend river.
