Its other main interest lies in its suitability as a habitat for the Large Blue butterfly (Maculinea arion), which has been successfully reintroduced ontothe site. There are two nationally scarce grasshopper species present; Rufous Grasshopper (Gomphocerippus rufus) and Woodland Grasshopper (Omocestus rufipes).
