For the first five congresses he was the representative Wisconsin's newly created 4th congressional district, however for his last term in office he redistricted and was elected to the Forty-third Congress as the representative of Wisconsin's 5th district.He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1874.He resumed the practice of law.He died in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, October 26, 1896.He was interred in Rienzi Cemetery."@en }
