This county change has remained without update in the Auglaize County assessor's office and the layout is still the same in the map/tax office as it was in 1881. One of the predominant figures of Santa Fe in the late 19th century was B.F. Minnich. The home he built still stands. He also built a brick and concrete factory which played a pivotal role in paving the highway U.S. 33 from New Hampshire, OH to Wapkoneta, OH. Throughout the life of this railroad town, the Boogher grain elevator stood at the rail road station serviced by the Baltimore and Ohio rail road. There stood a general store, post office and feed/seed store. In 1964 the postal service made the move to implement the five digit zip code system routing the mail to Wapakoneta effectively killing the purpose of both the local post office and the general store. The building featured in the photograph is on the South East corner of Santa Fe and is in Logan County. On the South West corner was a building owned by the Keysor family which at the turn of the century was also a general store. Before that it was the stagecoach hub between Kenton, Dayton, Lima and other bustling cities. On the North West corner is a small house which was the residence of Dr. Miller . Doyle Miller also lived in the same house, which he purchased, and raised three daughters in until the early 1980s. There is a rich history in this little cross roads, but it is rapidly vanishing with time."@en }
