Ayurvedic Vaidaians families like, Acheeri thodiyil, Nechiyil, Mel parambil, etc. are still continuing their profession successfully. This place has given birth to famous Nagaswara exponents also. Aristocratic Nair families also trace their ancestry to Aliparmaba. Well known Nair family names like,Mundankodi, Parambot, Palayakottu, Partholil Pariyarathu, Kunninpurathu etc. are among them.
